And you thought you could get rid of us so easily.

Welcome back folks, to... well, some news. 'Talk and Trivia, with Jon and Joel' has been put to rest, but its spirit lives on in our hearts.

MEANWHILE, the J's are starting some NEW PODCASTS, a couple of which they can announce now! Coming next week, the boys are buying some popcorn, propping up their feet on the chair in front of them, and schlocking their way through...

the 'Late Night Double Feature Picture Show'!

Yes, that's the name! 'Late Night Double Feature Picture Show'! A new podcast with a hard-to-pronounce acronym and no hyphens! J&J will continue their film journeys there, so don't forget to subscribe!

Also if you can't get enough of Jon talking Python and computer speak, you really need to listen to his brand-spanking-new podcast, 'Techno-Monking'! It's musical and odd; you might love it! And more shows are on their way, so stay tuned!

Anyways folks, hope you enjoyed this silly little podcast. You may see a couple more announcements on this feed, but for now, this is Future Jon signing out. Have a nice life.

Episode 100: 'The Witch'

What's this? The end of 'Talk and Trivia'? Say it ain't so!

Welcome, folks, to EPISODE 100 of your weekly J&J film review program. Two years it's been; two years of in-jokes, randomness, good films and bad. We hope you've enjoyed it... But all good things must come to an end. But don't get too worried about us: the boys won't be disappearing off the map, and if you desperately need your weekly hit of film reviews and rabbit trails... well, stay tuned.

This week Jon and Joel cover all the gory, terrifying details of 'The V-V-Vitch'! Can a family of New England Puritans fight off the evil presence in the woods? Does obsessing over sin make us less depraved or more? Is it better to save your soul, or be true to yourself? Also are all five-year-olds this horrible? Yikes.

Enjoy, folks.

Episode 98: 'Hail, Caesar!'

Howdy folks, and welcome to the ninety-eighth installment of this thing we do which has no name... Within, you will information, uplift, and yes, entertainment. But not too much death, surprisingly. What's your Religion? Who's your Savior? And crucifixes aside, how much overlap is there between this film and 'The Hateful Eight'? You'll have to find out for yourself.

Don't look at the man behind the curtain.

Boop boop. Howdy folks! The other J has returned, just in time for the former J to head off on an excursion of his own. Such is life. So while Joel's off riding crocodiles in the everglades of Missouri or Alabama, here's Jon to rattle on about Sundance and cowboy toast and cast-iron skillets and 'The Witness'. Oh, and Louis C.K.! Have you heard about this web series Louis surprised the world with? It's kind of weird. Yeah.

Joel reviews Charlie Kaufman's latest project, the stop-motion-animated "Anomalisa". Tune in to learn about about Starburns, Tom Noonan, Kickstarter and being a sh*tty human being.

Episode 95: 'Bone Tomahawk'

It's one of those days, folks. It's film day, wheeeeee! The guys have looked back on the past year, and the bajillion good films they have not watched, to choose one worthy of their expert reviews. But instead they chose 'Bone Tomahawk'. (Oooo burn!) Spoilers, tomahawks made of bone play a big role in this film, and often outplay the dialogue insofar as brutal, vital metaphor is concerned. Could this be the artist's intent? Is language just another inept tool that we clang against rocks? Can Kurt Russell make any film good? Can someone tell me what's going on?

Et Cetera Sunday - 'Transparent' s02, 'Making a Murderer'

"What is malt liquor?" This week, the boys talk nonsense mostly. Oh, well Jon talks nonsense. Joel talks about actual TV shows that people are watching. But that's just about as it should be. As Aaron Paul says, the price is right for life being good. He didn't say that. But I mean... he could've.
